It is very much worrying that something might be going amiss to the former 1500 metres world record holder Asbel Kiprop.
Going by his most recent social media post that he wrote on Friday, it is a fact that Asbel needs urgent intervention in terms of counselling.
In the post, the celebrated athlete dared the National Police Service (NPS) to immediately relieve him of his assigned duties. He further hinted that he might be forced to use his gun to find himself unidentified 'justice'.
“I pray to National Police Service to dismiss me Now. Before I use their machinery to earn myself Justice. Kindly IAAF come take your medals. I don’t need any on my house wall,” Kiprop wrote on Facebook.
In another post made on Thursday night, Kiprop apparently condemned his accomplices for failing to stand with him at the trying moments. The two disturbing social media posts come barely a week after he was handed a four years ban for failing doping tests.
Considering the two posts, the National Police Service (NPS) should immediately swing into action to help the visibly distressed Kiprop. Failure, the athlete might do something ungodly or even to somebody else in his quest to find 'justice' he as he claimed.
The government should also do its part and get to the bottom of doping allegations. Failure, more and more promising sportsmen might have their careers destroyed by unfounded allegations.
