Even with enthusiasm following Don Bosco Gichana's release from Arusha prison, he may after all be blocked from running for a political seat.
Whether he goes for his Kitutu Chache South or Kisii gubernatorial seat, argues lawyer Wilkins Ochoki, Mr. Bosco could find it hard to pass the integrity test.
"The threshold is quite high when it comes to integrity. He must be clean like Caesar's wife. It's going to be hard.
"Having pleaded guilty and subsequent conviction, blocks all avenues in political field. If IEBC doesn't do it, sometime will move to High Court," he said.
Although he's yet to make any declaration, a section of staunch supporters are lobbying for his gubernatorial ticket with Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati.
On how Tanzania laws can be effected on Kenyan constitution, Ochoki adds, the fact that we share common values under East Africa Community, seals Mr. Bosco's fate.
At the moment, both supporters of Raila Odinga and those of William Ruto have claimed a hand in Bosco's release.
But until now, Gichana is yet to Ake any public declaration thus keeping his supporters guessing over his next move.
He pleaded guilty to money laundering and fraud charges and subsequently sentenced to five years in prison on top of Sh15 million fine.
