It now emerges that Kisumu Governor Peter Anyang' Nyong'o and the county first lady Dorothy Nyongo are out of the country for personal reasons.
The couple is accompanying their daughter and celebrated Hollywood actor Lupita Nyong'o to the United States of America for the global premiere of her latest movie.
The movie dubbed 'Us' is the newest by the Oscar award winner and the two were over the weekend seen with her at the South and West festival for the event.
In a post on Instagram, Lupita posted a photo of herself in a white cut out trouser suit accompanied by the two who are the first family in Kisumu county, reports the Standard Digital.
The movie which is set to be released on March 22 this year has been directed by Jordan Peele and is more of a horror movie. Lupita is starring alongside Winsnton Duke.
The first couple has always been supportive of their daughter, this being just one of the many events featuring their daughter that they have attended abroad.
Lupita and her mother were initially spotted at the 'She Inspires Me twitter brunch' for the kickoff of the International Women's Day.
