High Court Advocate Ambrose Weda has joined the list notable Kenyans to mourn departed Kisumu Court of Appeal judge Otieno Odek. Odek was found dead in his apartment in Kisumu on Monday, with the reason behind his death yet to be established yet.

On Wednesday, Weda mourned the departed as a great man who played a major role in his success in the legal arena. He noted that the judge partially tutored him on matters evidence law, terming him a great, distinguished and dedicated man.

"Odek was my teacher, he taught me the law of evidence. He was a distinguished and dedicated man," he said on KBC English Service.

Weda, also a political analyst and Lake Basin Development Authority (LBDA) board member termed Odek's death a great loss to the country.

He regretted that he died without leaving behind a book, from where players in the legal field would obtain a piece of his wisdom.

"I regret that he has left without writing a book, that knowledge should not have gone to the grave. It should have been left to us. He was also young and failry a good man," he added.

Before his transfer to Kisumu in February, Justice Odek, served in Nairobi county.
