Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has on Tuesday afternoon assured the striking County workers that his government will look into their salary grievances and foresee its increment as stipulated and agreed upon in the 2017 Collective Bargain Agreement.
Speaking to the press in Nairobi while addressing the workers strike issue, the county boss reaffirmed his commitment and that of his government that they will work together with the relevant authorities to ensure that the CBA is implemented immediately after formal formalities are complete.
Sonko was speaking just hours after the employees downed their tools demanding the implementation of a 15% pay rise as was agreed on in the 2017 CBA.
The governor revealed that the relevant authorities will be meeting in Mombasa and that he will ensure that the stakeholders discuss the salary increment issue as a first priority in order to ensure efficiency in service delivery in the country's capital.
