Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka is yet to release a concrete statement in regard to the murder of  Rongo University Student Sharon Otieno.

Kalonzo, who has been very vocal on matters of national interest, has decided to keep off the matter as Migori Governor Okoth Obado fights for his life as he faces a maximum death sentence. 

While appearing before Justice Jessie Lesiit on Monday, Obado denied being linked to the brutal murder of the student, who was seven months pregnant at the time of her demise.

DNA results have since shown that Obado was responsible for the pregnancy.

The governor allegedly had links with Sharon's demise.

“The accused person is charged with the offense of murder and the particulars of the case states that you, Zachary Okoth Obado, between September 3 and 4, 2018, at Owande area in Rachuonyo within Homa Bay County together with others not before the court jointly murdered Sharon Belyne Otieno,” read the charge sheet.

Sharon's death has continued to elicit mixed reactions as investigations gained momentum. 

A section of leaders and Kenyans has been calling for the speedy probe into the matter for the sake of the deceased family's justice.
