A man and his nephew have been jailed for 15 years each for murdering their neighbour.
Appearing before Homabay High Court Judge Joseph Karanja on Friday, Crisanthus Odero Nyanduru and his nephew Stephen Okuku were found guilty for the murder of Joseph Otieno at 11 pm on April 23, 2016.
According to the prosecution, the crime was committed at Kanyanjwa sub-location in Rangwe, Homabay county.
Prosecutor Vallary Ongeti added that the duo attacked the deceased in the company of others not before the court.
They however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
In his ruling, the judge sided with the prosecution, finding the accused guilty as charged.
“The testimonies produced by various witnesses convinced the court that the accused persons committed the offence," he was quoted by the Standard.
They have 14 days to appeal the sentence.
