The MCA’s want the Chief Justice to reign in on the judges at the Kisumu Industrial and Labour Relations court following what they termed as a 'favourable' decision concerning officials of the Kisumu County Public Service board.

In a ruling delivered early this month, the court issued stay orders for the officials to remain in office until their case is heard and determined.

PSB chair Nahashon Oguya and vice chair Betty Asuna have been charged with attempting to defraud Kisumu County of Sh104, 000. They are claimed to have committed the crime on January 9.

The court’s decision to have the officials remain in office has not gone down well with Kisumu County MCA’s.

Addressing the press in Kisumu on Friday, the leaders said the law must be followed to the latter.

They now want the Chief Justice to intervene and ensure that due processes of law are followed in the war against corruption.

“It’s clearly spelled out that public officers facing criminal charges must step aside pending the determination of their cases. The judge happily dished the orders without due care of repercussions to the public," said Kisumu County Assembly Majority Leader Kennedy Onyango.
