Kariobangi Sharks Head Coach William Muluya has lauded his team after they beat Kenyan Champions Gor Mahia in the Shield match, played on Sunday.
The Sharks beat Gor 1-0 in an entertaining fixture, giving the champions a lot to ponder over as the new season kicks off next week.
Speaking after the match, Muluya said his team played well and was clearly the better side in the contest.
“It was a good game, we played with a great tempo and deserved to win. From the match, we have what it takes to do well this season, it shows what we can achieve locally and in the continent. Our character was good and it happens when you face bigger sides," he said.
The coach further hopes that the win can help his team play better and achieve greater things this coming season, where they hope to finish as high as possible on the log.
Sharks also won their first leg Caf Confederation Cup tie against Arta Solar, thoroughly beating them 6-1, and will be assured of qualification to the next round when they play the second leg.
