Flamboyant businessman and politician Steve Mbogo roiled social media for days on end after a photo of himself and a friend armed surfaced.
He was pictured holding a sophisticated gun that left tongues wagging with scores of social media users wondering where he procured the weapon.
In an interview with Alex Mwakideu and Jalang'oo, the former student leader gave details about the menacing 'machine'.
Mbogo revealed that it was a pump action, magazine-fed shotgun.
"That is a normal Anacon shotgun pump action, magazine-fed that a civilian is allowed to carry around, " he said.
In the interview, he said that he went to the scene of the terrorist attack because he was a victim of terrorism at Westgate and because managers of the hotel were his friends with whom he did business.
Kenyans criticised him for 'showing off' at Dusit, criticism that he strongly rebuffed.
