Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has listed Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Achesa among the most incompetent Ministers in the nation.
This follows Achesa's remarks on Saturday, where he accused ODM party leader Raila Odinga of scheming to have him sacked over his closeness to Deputy President William Ruto.
But speaking on Radio Citizen early Monday, Sifuna relegated the CS’s claims to empty talk, saying that he is using Raila’s name to gain sympathy.
He noted that the CS has predicted an approaching sack alongside his Tourism counterpart Najib Balala and is, therefore, looking for a scapegoat.
‘’Rashid ameshindwa na kazi. Yeye na Balala hata hawajui wanachokifanya (they are incompetent and do not even have an idea of what their duty entails),’’ he said.
He said that Rashid will be shown the exit door very soon, basing the argument on the minister’s alleged terrible performance.
‘’Yeye ni kati ya wale mawaziri wenye achievement kidogo zaidi. Amebakisha dakika chache tu aende nyumbani (only few minutes remaining before he is sent home),’’ he added.
Speaking during a funeral service in Hamisi, Vihiga county, Achesa dared the veteran politician to have him sacked, accusing him of inciting Luhya leaders against him.
He added that Raila's plan is to have him replaced with friendly persons from the region.
