Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi has said Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is the best performing county boss among his 46 colleagues.
Speaking on Sunday, Elachi said Sonko has demonstrated spotless working skills over the last one and a half years, surpassing all the remaining governors.
She urged those criticising Sonko to bash him as an individual, and not use their criticisms in a bid to derail his development agenda for the county.
"Sonko has performed better than anyone else in one-and-half-years. As we hit Sonko, let us not bring the development agenda. We are going to support the President because he said we must work together," she said on K24 TV on Sunday night.
Her remarks come at a time when the governor is under fire from some city lawmakers, led by former Majority Leader Abdi Guyo, who have questioned his leadership skills.
Elachi cleared Sonko of blame regarding the county's pending bills, stating that he inherited the figure from his predecessor Evans Kidero.
"Nairobi County has pending bills of over Sh60B. Those are not Sonko's bills; those are bills that have accumulated for years," added the former nominated Senator.
