Central Organisation of Trade Unions Secretary General Francis Atwoli has launched an attack on Deputy President William Ruto saying the former Eldoret North MP is not entitled to dish out projects in the country.

Atwoli in a video shared on Twitter says in no part of the world has he ever seen a deputy president launching projects with little participation of the President.

"The deputy president dishes out projects. It can't happen," he said in the video shared by KTN News.

"President Uhuru, I think is now rising up to the occasion. He is now trying to show that he is the president. He is trying to protect us. If he is weak and he leaves people visiting Sugoi... instead of going to State House to seek advise from the president. They have made Sugoi be the head of Kenya's governance administration."

Atwoli spoke two days after Uhuru gave Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i sweeping powers to oversee ministry operations including project implementation and monitoring, a development seen as belittling DP Ruto. Leaders allied to Ruto have already protested the move which they claim is meant to neutralize the DP ahead of 2022.

Ruto has been busy launching projects across the country and he has on numerous occasions been accused of using the projects to campaign for 2022 when he is expected to vie for the presidency.
