Ex-Bonchari MP Protus Momanyi argued that DP Ruto should not interfere with the work of chiefs.

"Chiefs should always report the happenings deep in villages. I wish to stand with the chiefs from Turkana and Baringo counties who reported the deaths of people who died of hunger. Local administrators should not be scared by DP Ruto's disciplinary threats," he said.

According to the ex-legislator, it is high time President Uhuru Kenyatta gets rid of the DP.

"Ruto is proving to be a dictator because he wants chiefs to keep quiet as people are dying of hunger. He is a kind of leader the country should not elect to lead this country," he said.

He appealed to chiefs to continue discharging their duties in accordance to the law.

"Chiefs are government representatives in villages and therefore, they should report the suffering people undergoes. Ruto has never been a true person to be trusted," he added.
