It is alleged that the suspect, Michael Morara, 52, slashed his son, Edgar Okwena, with a panga after a quarrel.

“Morara has been secretly seducing, Vivian Nyaboke, the wife to his son and when his son realised he went ahead and questioned his father why he was seducing his wife. Morara was angered with his son’s questions, he picked a panga and cut the deceased's neck,” said a witness, Teresa Moraa.

Moraa said the victim raised alarm and neighbours found him bleeding severely.

“The deceased was taken to Keumbu hospital from where he was referred to Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital. While at the hospital before he died, he said that his father was jealous and wanted to inherit his wife,” she added.

Area assistant chief, Charles Onsombi, confirmed the incident.

“Morara is at large but, we are pursuing him. He must be arrested and charged,” said Onsombi.

Bernard Mayenga, a doctor who was attending to the deceased said he had lost a lot of blood.

“Okwena died since he lost a lot of blood. We tried to save his life but, in vain,” said Mayenga.
