A deputy headmaster at Kapsoya primary school in Eldoret town has been accused of defiling a class eight pupil.
The headmaster, Kipchumba Kiptoo is alleged to have lured the 14-year-old girl into his car and drove to the neighbouring Elgeyo Marakwet county where he did unfortunate act.
After defiling the girl, the teacher is said to have abandoned her before going into hiding.
Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Abdi Hassan has already ordered for the arrest and prosecution of the teacher.
"We have received information from parents at the school and launched investigations on Kipchumba Kiptoo who is said to have fled," said Hassan as quoted by Citizen Digital.
The incident has elicited a sharp reaction from local women leaders who have called for action to be taken against the culprit.
Kimumu Ward Representative Irene Malel and her nominated counterpart who lives in Kapsoya estate Belinda Tirop visited the school on Friday where they condemned the incident.
The asked the Teachers Service Commission to sack the teacher should he be found guilty of committing the heinous act.
"If teachers whom we have entrusted our children with are now turning against them, where will we take our children to," noted Kiptoo.
