Kanu Chairman Gideon Moi said Ruto and his allies have been dragging the community in their political wars.

Speaking in Bomet, the Kanu boss said no community is being targeted in the ongoing war against graft in the country.

“The integrity of the community should be guarded and nobody should be allowed to taint it,” Moi said.

The sentiments were echoed by Kanu Secretary General Nick Salat.

Salat said the DP’s and his allies should ‘stop hiding behind the Kalenjin community in an attempt to frustrate the fight against corruption’.

“There is nothing to do with our community in the ongoing war against corruption but fight against the theft of resources that is threatening to deny Kenyans development,” Salat said.

This comes as the DP’s allies led by Belgut MP Nelson Koech and Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot accused the DCI of using the war on corruption as a tool to fight those associated with Ruto.

They claim that Kalenjin professionals working in government have been a target in a skewed antigraft war meant to portray Ruto as the high priest of corruption.
