Washiali says that Khalwale will not regret his move, adding that Jubilee is the home for all Kenyans.

In an exclusive interview on Saturday, Washiali said that Jubilee Party has the interests of the Luhya community at heart contrary to what critics are saying.

He said that the ruling government has initiated key development projects in the Western region since 2013.

“My friend Boni Khalwale has made the right political decision and I want to assure him that Jubilee is the right place for him and all Kenyans,” he said.

The Mumias East lawmaker said that the Luhya community will unite and rally behind the party in the upcoming 2022 general election.

He noted that the community has confidence in the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William  Ruto.

Washiali added that Western Kenya is guaranteed of a place in the next government if the Jubilee Party wins the election.

The MP argued that the Luhya community has been deceived for a long time, adding that moving forward, they will no longer cling to political brokers.

Khalwale defected to Jubilee after allegedly being summoned by the Ford Kenya party leadership over his links with DP Ruto.

Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula has since wished Khalwale well in his new political outfit, saying he has a constitutional right to chose where he wants to be.

Khalwale is eyeing to succeed Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya in the 2022 general elections.

He lost his bid for the seat in the 2017 general election.
