She addressed the African Philanthropy Forum.

In her speech, she outlined the work that was being done by the trust narrating the story of a Turkana boy, Moses Letot whose life was changed by Kenyatta Trust.

Letot was taken by the organisation when he was just 15 years old and given the support he needed to pursue his education.

Thanks to the support accorded to him by the trust, he joined the university to pursue a course in petroleum engineering in China so that he could help in the exploration of oil in his home county of Turkana, where oil was recently discovered in commercial quantities.

"We have a student, Moses Letot, from Turkana county who joined us at age 15. Through the Kenyatta Trust, he was able to gain secondary education and he is now studying petroleum engineering in China, " she said.

"Why such a unique course, you might ask. Moses chose to do this because he wants to come back to his community and work in a field that is primarily dominated by foreign experts, " she added

The president's daughter expressed hope that Letot's story will act as an inspiration to others to seek an education to transform their communities.
