Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Director of Communications Philip Etale has welcomed Team Tangatanga's change of heart towards the ongoing Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) forums.
The group, which largely consists of members of the Jubilee Party allied to Deputy President William Ruto, on Tuesday said that they will be involved in the forums beginning Saturday.
This comes as a change of heart from the politicians, who until recently were accusing the organizers of the forums of misusing public funds, arguing that the forums are needless.
While reacting to the group's u-turn on Tuesday, Etale suggested that the group must have decided to join the BBI bandwagon upon realizing that the BBI wave is unstoppable.
"If you can’t BEAT them, JOIN then. From it's a waste of taxpayers’ money to We shall attend all BBI meetings. Utamu wa ngoma ni kuucheza mpigo wake (the sweetness of the drum is to dance its beat)," he tweeted.
Led by Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen, the politicians, said that they will be part of the next BBI forum set for Mombasa county on Saturday.
Murkomen added that they will also mobilize Kenyans from across the country to give their opinions, on what they want to be included in the final BBI draft, during the regional forums.
