Hours after Thirdway Alliance party offices were reportedly attacked by six armed men, its leader, Ekuru Aukot has now claimed that his life is in danger.
The former presidential candidate now wants to meet the Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai.
Aukot claims all has not been well since the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) approved at least 1 million signatures needed to amend the constitution.
The politician wants the number of MPs reduced as well as the presidential term limit changed to a single term of seven years.
He has appealed to the IG to assign security guards to him with immediate effect. The politician alleged that the six men, who raided his offices were wearing masks on their faces.
The incident reportedly occurred at around 8.00 P.m. He also said that the gang threatened to kill Secretary-General Fredrick Okango during the attack.
The leader claimed that the criminals made away with a laptop containing critical information. Okango allegedly decided to hide in the toilet during the incident.
“The men had threatened to shoot Okango if he did not come out of the toilet,” Aukot said.
The police are yet to arrest any suspects following the attack.
