The owners of the Solai dam, which caused the death of 47 Kenyans, are now facing forgery charges.
The duo, Manshukhlal Patel and Perry Kansagra, have been taken to court for allegedly forging land title deed.
Court papers indicate that the two directors forged the title for a 10-acre property in Nairobi. The property in question has a market value of Sh2 billion. The two are expected to present themselves in court to defend themselves after a warrant of arrest was issued.
While issuing the order on Tuesday, Makadara Law Courts Senior Principal Magistrate Angelo Kithinji said that the directors are expected to avail themselves in court or else they will be arrested and charged over the same.
The directors reportedly faked the documents to enable them to own the piece of land located in Kiangombe Industrial Area, Nairobi.
“On December 23, 2019 at Kiangombe in Embakasi Sub-County, you were in possession of land 209/11410 of Tuffplus Company without the right to be in possession of that land,” read the charge sheet.
The accused persons have been accused of forcefully invading a piece of land owned by someone else. The court was told that papers show that the property belongs to Tuffplus Company Ltd, which renders the title deed owned by the investors useless.
