World 1,500 metres champion Asbel Kiprop’s life has never been the same again after the video showing his escapes with a half-naked woman surfaced online.
In an interview with Switch TV, the three-time champion confessed that his wife left their matrimonial home after the revelation.
The athlete, who made the nation proud several years, is now pleading with the wife to come back home. Hell broke loose in his life after the video showing him kissing and groping one Nancy Rotich Chepsiya, who also moved out of her house after she allegedly tried to commit suicide following the leakage of the video.
The athlete revealed that he choose to confess his sins in a bid to seek forgiveness from the wife. He also said that Nancy and her husband are in good terms, adding that he decided to spill beans on the private affair of two years with the secret lover. He added that the wife did not catch him red-handed, and he chose to do so because he feels he now cared about her.
Kiprop also maintained that he is not guilty of doping after suffering endless setbacks in his career. The video of the athlete elicited mixed reactions after he confessed that the woman had ruined his life.
