But Governor John Nyagarama, guided by delayed audit of directors and subsequent rescheduling of interviews for Chief Officers, cancelled the reshuffle.

"Auditing ought to be finished in departments. Interviews for chief officers were rescheduled thus the delay in reshuffling, said a source, claims which were backed by Director Communications Kefa Miller.

With about four departments on Nyagarama's reshuffle plan, ministers were busy making calls to know their fate.

"We have been in Mombasa and am hearing that for the first time. Kindly let me know where I've been taken," one of the minister is said to have asked an insider.

Another one said: " Whichever department they take me, I don't care. There are a lot of politics going on."

But Tourism minister Peter Muga is said to have celebrated news about his transfer to Finance which would later not materialize.

The four departments that were to be affected include Finance, Tourism, Public Administration and Roads department.
