Kenya Union of Journalists (KUJ) has given Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) a 14-days ultimatum to solve the labour crisis facing its employees.
Speaking to press in Nakuru on Sunday, Kenya Union of Journalist (KUJ) chairman Juma Kwayera attributed corruption to what is happening at KBC.
“The government should take action on people found misappropriating the station’s fund,” said Kwayera.
His sentiments were echoed by KUJ secretary general Erick Oduor.
Oduor said that medical schemes should be restored or an agreement is signed with medical insurance so as KBC employees enjoy universal health care.
He further said that the managing director of the station should come out and stipulate the steps he is going to take to remit the money deductions of the employees and also ensure retirement benefits funds are remitted.
