Reports that Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula is in Hong Kong attending the anti-corruption conference has elicited mixed reactions among Kenyans.
On Tuesday, Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura shared a photo of him with the Bungoma Senator in Hong Kong on Twitter and Kenyans could not hold it together.
"With Sen Moses Wetangula representing the Senate ahead of the International Anti corruption conference in Hong Kong China. We paid a courtesy call at the Faculty of Law of the University of Hong Kong where Prof Yash Pal Ghai taught for 10 years,” Senator Mwaura posted on Twitter.
Wetangula is embroiled in a fake gold scandal where his name is featuring prominently. On Tuesday, the DCI ascertained that a voice in an audio clip between a Kenyan and an angry Dubai businessman was indeed Wetangula.
His presence at the anti-corruption conference was trolled by Kenyans on Twitter who said that he should come back home to clear his name. Others maintained that it was ironical to have him represent Kenya on corruption matters.
