Former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero has sued the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) for what he terms as harassment and infringement on his rights.
Kidero in the suit papers filed by his lawyer professor Tom Ojienda at Nairobi Milimani Law courts, claims that the government has been harassing and intimidating him in the name of fighting corruption.
The former Nairobi governor says that EACC has been gaining entry to his private property without court documents.
Kidero now says that he no longer feels safe and wants the court to stop the EACC and DPP from accessing his home, offices and other property he owns.
The former governor says that his arrest over alleged corruption is politically motivated. He said that last week search at his home and offices by EACC detectives was illegal.
“They did not present any search warrant or court order,” Kidero says in the suit papers.
“I am a man of fair means who has accumulated his wealth gradually over the years,” he says.
