Police in Suna West sub-county has launched a manhunt for a man suspected of killing his wife.
Lucas Kuria reportedly murdered his wife Evelyn Musira at their home at Royal Estate, Oruba Sub-Location, before taking off.
The body of the deceased was later discovered by neighbours lying in a pool of blood in their house on Sunday morning bearing deep cuts.
Confirming the incident, area Chief Charles Ouma said that the couple has been involved in domestic wrangles which might have caused the same.
He said that the suspect sent their son out of the house before killing her mother, according to a revelation by the 5-year-old boy.
“The report from the deceased’s son aged 5 years indicates that his father came to the house drunk on Saturday night and ordered him out of the house. The boy also says he heard the mother crying as he was leaving the house to spend the night in the neighbourhood,” he told the Citizen Digital.
The administrator added that the police were working on an initial assault complaint made by the deceased before her death.
The body is being preserved at the Migori Level Four Hospital morgue as the search for the suspect proceeds.
This comes only a few weeks after another man hanged himself in a gold mine in Central Kadem ward in the same county after killing his wife.
