The incident is said to have happened when the duo scuffled over a barmaid on Wednesday noon.

According to some of the witnesses interviewed, the deceased aged 33 years identified as Richard Manyara was stabbed severally on the chest after picking an argument with the bodaboda rider at the drinking joint.

“The two men were already drunk when they disagreed on who should be entertained by the one barmaid and at some point, the bodaboda rider went to the counter and came with a knife and stabbed Manyara severally,” said Elijah Nyangweso who witnessed the incident.

Police sources confirmed the incident and said the suspect Erick Ouru became too emotional and stabbed his drinking mate and tried to escape.

However, other people in the bar didn’t allow him to escape.

Confirming the incident to the journalists on Wednesday, Nyamira police boss Erastus Korir said the deceased died on spot after bleeding profusely.

“We have already arrested the suspect and he is in custody as we launch investigations on why he did that. We will arraign him in court” said Korir.

The body of the deceased was taken to Nyamira Hospital morgue.
