Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has now claimed that Mt Kenya residents will not be stupid to renege on their promise to support Dp Ruto's 2022 bid.
He stated that voters and leaders from Central Kenya would look like kids if they choose to betray the Deputy President by not voting him in as the next president.
The governor was speaking during a Sunday service in PCEA church at Mwiki Ward in Kasarani Constituency, an event attended by the Deputy President William Ruto and Jubilee MPs.
"I want to tell Maina Kamanda and Raila Odinga that people from Mt Kenya will support the Deputy President. They have become wise. We are not con-men," said Waititu.
Waititu argued that the Ruto and his allies from Rift Valley had supported President Kenyatta in two previous elections and therefore, he ought to be supported.
"The Deputy President has supported Uhuru two times. We are not kids and we do not want to look like fools. Were it not for the William Ruto, Uhuru could not be president," remarked Waititu.
Waititu further claimed that some individuals led by the ODM leader Raila Odinga were keen to ensure that they succeed in bringing down the Ruto using the fight against corruption.
