Residents of Arama, Chemusus, Tinet, and Sawich held protests on Tuesday lamenting increased cattle theft in the area.

According to the residents, thieves have been marauding in the area at night where they steal cattle and slaughter them in thickets.

The protestors accused police of laxity and called on the government to intervene.

"We need police roadblocks at night between this road so that they can identify the thieves who slaughter cows and transport the meat," one resident said.
