Nyamira leaders have strongly condemned the killing of a matatu conductor by police officers.
The deceased identified as Onderi was arrested and tortured to death by Kenyenya police officers on Tuesday.
County MP Jerusha Momanyi condemned the killing saying the rogue officers should be sacked, arrested and prosecuted.
"I am urging Interior CS Fred Matiang'i to ensure the officers behind the killing of the matatu conductor are dealt with accordingly," she noted.
Nyaribari Masaba MP Ezekiel Machogu faulted the officers for torturing the deceased instead they could have arraigned him in court.
"If he committed an offence he could have been taken to court. The officers who tortured him must be held accountable for his death and face the full force of the law," said Machogu.
Rachael Otundo, a Kisii local politician said polcie killing must stop.
"Police officers have turned to be murderers instead of protecting the people. Justice must be served to the family of the deceased who died in the hands of rogue police officers," she noted.
