It seems ideological differences between gospel musicians Willy Paul and Alex Apoko popularly known as Ringtone will not cool down any time soon.
Appearing on NTV’s Wicked Edition on Friday hosted by Dr King’ori, Ringtone bashed Willy Paul for his music which he (Ringtone) believes is not gospel per se.
“Willy Paul has conned as Christians. Willy Paul has conned us. I am very sorry to call Willy Paul a conman because when he came with Bahati, some Christians and DJs started telling us that you Ringtone and Daddy Owen and Jimmy Gait we do not need you because we have found new school who sing like Diamond but they sing for God,” Ringtone told Dr King’ori.
“We said ok these boys we are not going to beat them because there are those who lease land and we have the actual landowners,” he added.
Ringtone who is now the self-proclaimed Chairman of Gospel music in Kenya did not agree with the show host when King’ori said that Willy Paul previously did some of the best gospel tracks in the Country.
“I do not agree that Willy Paul did some of the best gospel tracks in the Country because when you take for example Sitolia, he did a collabo with Gloria Muliro. We were pulled to Sitolia because of Gloria Muliro’s spirit,” insisted Ringtone.
