A secondary school in Nakuru is on the spot after a video emerged showing students with beating marks after allegedly being assaulted by a group of teachers.
Parents want education officers to probe the school, Utumishi Boys Academy in Gilgil, after the video emerged where the students complain of being assaulted.
The video, which is doing rounds on social media, shows students with whip marks on their butts and thighs.
One student is heard saying: “Aki ya Mungu hii si shule.”
In the video, the students capture what appears like the logo of the school as printed on a cardigan.
“One student exposed the school after sending the clip to his parents via WhatsApp. We are told that is the case in the school but the administration is hiding the truth,” a parent told this writer.
A former student of the school said ‘such cases are normal’.
“At UBA corporal punishment is a must. The school, in a way, operates in a military environment and students are expected to maintain the highest standards of discipline. Those who fail face the music, it is time the ministry (of Education) intervenes,” the former student said.
