Didmus Mokua, a resident political analyst at KTN, said Uhuru could have received information from the National Intelligence Service (NIS) indicating that if certain popular Cabinet Secretaries are fired, violence could occur.

"The President sits in an interesting position, he has a lot of information, he knows if he comes with popular decisions, maybe it might cause unrest. He knows if he pushes a particular button then there might be unrest," Mokua said during KTN's Sunday Edition segment.

Appearing during the same show, lawyer Kipchumba Karori expressed similar sentiments, saying there was a certain reason why Uhuru did not fire CSs during Thursday's State of The Nation address as it was widely expected.

"The President stated clearly that we will not use kwekwe squad and vigilante tactics to fight corruption. I thought this was deep," Karori noted.

The Head of State last week admitted that there were corrupt senior officers serving in his government but took a dramatic U-turn by declaring he will only dismiss them once charged in courts.

The unexpected move during the State of The Nation address has raised questions and various speculations.
