Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has mourned the demise of Sarova Hotels chairman and family members.
Sardar Mohinder Singh Vohra, his wife, daughter, and wife of his late son (JS Vohra) died in a road accident along Mombasa road on their way from a Makueni temple.
The late JS Vohra was the Sarova Hotels managing director, who died in a road accident in November 2017, after his car rolled around Amboseli Lodge while going to watch the East African Safari Classic Rally.
"I have learnt with shock, the death of Sarova Hotels Managing Director Sardar Mohinder Singh Vohra, his daughter Reena and two others in a grisly road accident. Vohra’s passing on is a big blow not only to his family but also to the tourism industry," said Joho following the tragedy on October 22.
The family members were traveling back to Nairobi from a religious ceremony held at Makindu Sikh Temple before the accident.
"He will be remembered for his contribution to the growth of the industry. My prayers are with the family and friends of the late Vohra. May the Almighty give them strength during this difficult time," the governor added in a social media post.
