Mr. Kang'ata, the proponent of constitutional changes to have a position created for Uhuru after retirement, added that the team frustrated his attempts.

"They think we don't support Ruto. They blocked the agenda and Moses Kuria was the ring leader. They don't want to think creatively," he said in an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday.

At least 70 MPs from the region had gathered in Naivasha where they accused Jubilee adminstration of marginalising them on development.

In the same interview, Kuria admitted leading his troops in sabotaging Kang'ata's agenda, insisting that it was not necessary.

"I don't know why this debate is coming up. We were supposed to debate development and not that idle talk on Uhuru succession. We had to scuttle it," he confessed.

Divisions have rocked Mt. Kenya with one team backing Uhuru's handshake with Raila Odinga and another one backing Ruto.

The team allied to Uhuru believes that the Head of State remains the undisputed king of Kikuyu community with another one calling for paradigm shift in geopolitics.

Earlier, a source in DP Ruto's team claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta had called MPs barring them from discussing his retirement.
