KUTV, a station owned by Kenyatta University, has suffered a huge blow after KTN NEWS poached senior news anchor Jesse Rodgers.
He is reported to have submitted his resignation on Thursday and is currently serving a three-day notice before joining KTN NEWS as a news anchor and reporter next week.
Jesse, who has just completed his degree in Film Production and Media Studies at Kenyatta University, was also said to have attracted the attention of K24 but was given time to clear his studies first.
Red Cross TV and TV 47, an upcoming television station associated with the owner of Mt Kenya University, had also shown interest in poaching the anchor, but it seems they were a little too late.
He was among the first people to join the station in 2015 when KUTV started and was feted as the head of news anchor in 2016.
News of his resignation came out on Wednesday when a colleague posted on the station Whatsapp page congratulating and wishing him well in his new endeavours.
This comes just a day after yet another Swahili news anchor ditched the station for EBRU TV due to payment issues.
