In a Facebook post on Monday, Wanjiku said that the two, Alice Njeri of Gatei village and Mzee Michael of Nyamangara village have been living in deplorable conditions.

The former nominated MCA noted that the move to build the two residents new homes was a way of giving back to the community and celebrating Christmas with the less privileged.

“My team and I are putting up decent houses for the two elderly persons as a way of giving back and spreading cheer this festive season,” posted Wanjiku.

The MP also revealed that the preparations for the construction of Mzee Michael’s home near Nyamangara shopping centre were in top gear, and asked well-wishers to join her team on Boxing Day to assist in the construction works or by donating house items and building materials.

She further called on residents in the constituency to spread the Christmas cheer to the less fortunate in society.

“I urge that we share what we have with those who are underprivileged in our society as we celebrate Christmas,” she added.
