Garissa Township Member of Parliament and Leader of the Majority Aden Duale held a closed-door meeting with Somali region of Ethiopia president Mustapha Omer in Nairobi alongside MPs.

A bewildering array of issues was discussed.

Duale was briefed by Mr Omer of the progress that had been made in the social, political and economic spheres in the Somali region and the wider Ethiopian society

The outspoken legislator hailed the leadership of Omer and Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy who has been engaged in wide-ranging reforms, saying that the Somali region and Ethiopia would move forward.

Duale's meeting comes in the wake of reforms taking place in Ethiopia that have attracted the admiration of the international community.
