Earlier, Dr Ruto had been received at Nyaigesa Primary School by West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi, Borabu MP Ben Momanyi and Kitutu Masaba's Shadrack Mose along with County MP Jerusha Momanyi.

Youths wearing shirts branded #DPRuto2022 were seen beefing up security as thousands flooded the tiny South Nyanza town perhaps have a glimpse of Dr Ruto.

"It's full here and business is booming. I have sold several bottles of water and milk," said Jane Mokaya, a business lady in Nyamira town.

Bodaboda riders reaped big with some contracted to ferry anybody who cared to accompany Dr Ruto, even though their financiers still remain unknown.

"I have ferried many people here. The business has done well today. These people should be visiting," said James Oginda, although he admitted that he's yet to make up his mind ahead of 2022.

Dr Ruto made a stop over in the town, moments after commissioning of West Mugirango Technical Training Institute and West Mugirango constituency offices.

He said: "I am here to promote development. This is the most important thing. I will also continue supporting churches across the country."

The MPs backed Ruto's 2022 bid, with Mr Kemosi lauding him for continued support to the entire Gusii region for development. Mr Mose promised to deliver for Ruto in 2022.

Dr Ruto proceeded to Nyamira Catholic Church for a fundraiser. He will later tour Nyamiranga Secondary School where he's set to fundraise for 15 SDA churches.
