Nairobi County Woman Rep Esther Passaris has come out to demand respect for women, just a day after walking out of the Madaraka Day celebrations in Nairobi County, led by Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko.In a tweet, Passaris noted that she was receiving overwhelming support, adding that women should be respected in their various places of work.“Just landed at @Schiphol en route to @WomenDeliver as part of The President's delegation and I'm overwhelmed by the love and support from Kenya and across the world. Women must be respected; in boardrooms, in matatus & in public functions. My service is to The People of Nairobi,” she posted.On Saturday during the Madaraka Day celebrations at the Pumwani Grounds in Nairobi, she walked out of the ceremony when Sonko accused her of calling him frequently.In a video shared online by NTV Kenya, Passaris can be seen walking out of the ceremony while the crowd jeers her. Sonko further tells her a sarcastic goodbye.
