Speaking during a press conference on Thursday, the recently appointed government spokesperson Colonel Cyrus Oguna said the government will start the process of clean up once the deadline for the mass registration, that is on Saturday 25th, has elapsed.

In the process of clean up, once they identify that a person gave the wrong information such as the wrong national Identity number or wrong birth certificate number, they will be contacted to do the process afresh.

“When the mass registration comes to an end on Saturday, what will happen thereafter is the process of cleaning the data; there will be some areas that the data may look same or maybe it was not entered properly,” said Col. Oguna.

“So you may have registered, yes, but in the process of cleaning data, then you’re found to have either given the wrong I.D (national identification) number or the wrong number of your birth certificate, then they would be communicated to go and register afresh,” he added.

Those who will be affected, together with those who will not have registered after the deadline for mass registration, will be required to go their respective assistant chief's office for registration. He said so far, 36 million Kenyans have registered for Huduma number.
