Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has come out to defend himself after a photo of a poorly re-carpeted road emerged online.
This was after a twitter user by the name 'Ma3Route' posted a photo of a road in Nairobi lamenting on how poorly it was repaired.
"This is a work done along church road Westlands near Toyota. How much did we pay here?" said Ma3Route.
The flamboyant city boss came out revealing that the road was re-carpeted by volunteers and that no single coin had been used it its repair.
"No coin was paid for this. It's just first aid as we wait for procurement process to do a major re-carpeting this financial year. You dont just wake up in the morning and start re-carpeting any road you will go to jail for flouting procurement laws," he said.
The County Government of Nairobi is currently repairing roads in Nairobi to bring it to its city status.
However, various sections have been done roughly something that people have been coming out to complain through social media.
