Nova Pioneer School has launched its secondary schools for boys and girls in Eldoret.
According to the schools' Co-founder and Director Christopher Khaemba, the school which is located at Annex in the outskirts of Eldoret will admit its first batch of students in January.
“The Laptrust has invested Sh1.6 billion infrastructure for Nova Pioneer to offer an innovative approach to the Kenya National Curriculum to prepare learners to be the 21st Century innovators and leaders,” he said.
He spoke during the official launch of the school on Monday.
“The development comprises a 16,000 square meters campus comprising of classrooms, dormitories, auditoriums, staff, residence, operations facilities such as maintenance workshop, kitchen as well as sports facilities,” added Khaemba.
He further said that the school will offer Kenya National Curriculum which will be delivered with world-class teaching methods that develop character, capabilities, and connection, preparing students to be innovative in the 21st century.
Present during the launch was PS Education Belio Kipsang who lauded the Nova Pioneer Secondary Schools for their unique approach to delivering the National Curriculum.
He said that the school has embraced Competency-Based Curriculum principles by ensuring that classes are hands-on and interactive, classrooms are student-centred which means teachers guide students to discover solutions themselves rather than telling a student to solve the problem.
Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago challenged parents to invest heavily in their children’s education noting that education is the only investment that a parent can leave to his heirs.
The annual fee per student is about Sh500,000.
