Mystery has continued to engulf the shooting that left a bodyguard of Meru County Assembly Speaker Joseph Kaberia dead, following the entrance of a woman into the issue.
The inclusion of Sarah Karambu into the matter has led to detectives believing that Kaberia's aide Andrew Nabea and bodyguard Samuel Munga might have shot at each other.
This is after it emerged that Karambu is Nabea's sister in law and was initially married to her sister Irene Makuba before their separation after the marriage flopped.
In the suspected shoot out, at a time when both men were armed, Munga sustained a shot in the chest which later claimed his life, while Nabea was shot in the leg.
However, when asked about her relationship with Nabea, both Karambu and Makuba refused to open up, driving the police into more suspicion, reports the Standard.
If he is my brother-in-law, where is the problem? I am not commenting,” said Karambu, while Makuba said that she will not comment on matters under investigations.
And though the police believe the duo might have shot at each other, the Speaker insists that they were attacked by criminals, in a case that has been forwarded to Nairobi.
Nairobi county Investigations boss Bernard Nyakalwa said that the matter is now being handled by Kasarani Police Station investigators.
The shootout happened at Kamiti Corner in Nairobi on Sunday.
