Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen may not help Deputy President William Ruto succeed in his quest for 2022 polls, Prof Herman Manyora has said.
Murkomen, a second term legislator, has transformed to one of most dependable allies of Dr. Ruto both in the Senate and public rallies.
More often than not, he calls for meetings and represents the DP, and has always blasted his own government over certain policies.
But Manyora says the youthful politician is not strategic and may not add much to Dr. Ruto's team in terms of ideas.
“He is all noise, a bit of politics but no strategy. He is just like the rest of the crowd in Team Tangatanga, which is very unfortunate,” Mr Manyora explains.
Manyora believes that Murkomen has led down the DP. “As the head of Ruto’s political wing, one would have expected him to have taken the lead to provide strategic thinking for their man but he has not.“
Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura shares similar sentiments, accusing Murkomen of trying to defend former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu during impeachment.
On Thursday, he came out as a supporter of corrupt governors yet he was all over social media castigating corruption. He is erratic, thinks on his feet but not in a long-term manner,” he says.
