For the last five months, Ruto has toured Nyamira and Kisii Counties a record eleven times, thus challenging the party's dominance.

Deputy Party Leader Wycliffe Oparanya on Saturday said grassroot recruitment of members, attending social functions and gathering former party members and subsequent union will help the party stamp it's authority.

"They are taking advantage of perceived disunity. We are going to do recruitment of new members besides uniting those who may have felt left out.

"And after doing this, we shall unleash at all functions they attend. We can't allow him to mislead masses using old tactic."

Similar sentiments were made by party treasurer Timothy Bosire who accused Ruto of misleading area residents through 'fake' projects.

Mr Bosire, who was speaking at Nyansiongo on Sunday, further stated that the party will facilitate grassroot leaders to avert encroachment by Ruto's team.

"We shall ensure that grassroot leaders are empowered. No more cheating people by relaunching old projects. He won't lie to us anymore."
