More leaders and Kenyans continue to send messages of hope to Kibra Member of Parliament (MP) Kenneth Okoth who is battling stage four colorectal cancer.
This is after the lawmaker publicly came out to share his cancer condition as he undergoes chemotherapy treatment.
‘Napambana na hali yangu kabisa (I am seriously struggling with my condition), chemo drugs brutal on my skin and immune system'. he tweeted.
The photo under the #WeShallOvercome saw leaders and Kenyans empathize assuring the MP that all will be well.
Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris is among politicians and leaders who have wished the Kibra MP quick recovery.
"Mheshimiwa @okothKenneth you are in our thoughts and prayers. Your positive attitude truly is something worth emulating. #WeShallOvercome," Passaris tweeted.
Eliud Owalo, a Kibra politician and opposition leader Raila Odinga's close ally also empathized with Okoth.
Owalo on his Twitter account wrote, "I empathize with my brother @okothKenneth at this point when he is indisposed. A few minutes ago, I reached out to him wishing him a quick recovery. Let us join hands in praying for him". #WeShallOvercome.
Okoth who has sponsored a Bill that seeks to legalize bhang is among the most vocal Nairobi politicians.
