Bonyamatuta MCA Robinson Mocheche who also doubles as Deputy Speaker of the county assembly was forced out of the podium over what locals termed as hypocrisy.

Trouble started when Mr Mocheche defended the county assembly of Nyamira over misappropriation of funds, insisting that the MCAs have never taken what's not rightfully theirs.

"I have heard someone say that we are misusing our money. That's not true. We are keen to work within our budget and that is a fact. Nobody is squandering your money," he said amid heckling.

A section of irate youths threatened to eject him from the podium, forcing him to vacate the funeral before finishing his speech. He was escorted to his vehicle by a few supporters.

Earlier this week in Kisumu, a section of MCAs caused fracus that saw Magwagwa MCA Fred Omayio Nyachae arrested and briefly detained in Kisumu Central Police.

According to Mr Nyachae, the assembly leadership of Nyamira under Moffat Teya had failed to execute it's mandate, adding that MCAs are illegally holding meetings outside the county.

"These meetings can be held in Nyamira. The speaker keeps on sending MCAs outside the county. This is the impunity I am fighting," said Mr Nyachae.
